Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 11am-12:30pm Pacific, I will be participating in an EnergyCentral Power Session – Data Diodes 101- Protecting the Grid with Hardware (
https://lnkd.in/d_irPF5). Data diodes have been protecting critical infrastructure for over a decade, yet myths and misperceptions about them persist. Many in the industry aren’t well versed in the range of use cases data diodes can fulfill or believe they are relegated to a narrow set of use cases, particularly for compliance applications. Our panel will discuss selected use cases (alarm management, database transfer, cloud analytics, historian replication, OPC, etc.), explore myths about costs and deployments, and discuss the next generation of hardware-enforced cybersecurity. I will be participating with representatives from Owl CyberDefense, West Monroe, and a recently retired utility engineer. Given the current discussions about the possible use of data diodes for process safety and other process applications, these discussions should be of interest.
