DOD and ICS Security

I have had the opportunity to meet with numerous representatives from the Department of Defense (DOD), and speak at several conferences with significant DOD attendance. From my perspective, there seems to be more appreciation by many in DOD that “SCADA Security’ is a problem. However, many seem to feel that “SCADA” is just another IT system. There is certainly a lack of understanding of what the term “SCADA” actually represents. I just had a discussion with a DOD representative that felt that “SCADA” had effectively unlimited bandwidth and little appreciation of what “slick” IT technology could do to ”SCADA” performance. Here’s hoping we can make some progress.  Obviously, this is a very important constituency.
