It is with the utmost sadness that I must tell you that my friend and colleague, Harvey Warren, has lost his two-year fight with cancer. He passed away yesterday at his home in Oradell, N.J. Many of you knew Harvey, and knew he was ill, but not how close he was to the end.
"Always ready with a joke and a smile, his was a beloved and respected presence throughout the eastern U.S., serving marketing clients in the industrial automation industry for nearly 20 years," Keith Larson, our publisher, said about Harvey. "He will be sorely missed by all of us."
If you are a vendor, or a member of a PR firm, you knew Harvey. If you were an end-user, you saw Harvey's work product every month, in the advertising pages of Control, Control Design, and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.
When something like this happens, it is natural to ask G-d why. Why couldn't this happen to some evil bastard instead of one of the finest human beings it has ever been my profound honor to know. I don't know the answer, but I do know that Harvey died too young, and I will miss him.
