CONTROL's Senior Technical Editor, Dan Hebert, reports:So this looks mostly like a human interest story about the employees in these plants who happen to live in the affected areas. The water damage and power losses in the plants mentioned occur frequently in LA. Geismar is right next to Baton Rouge, my sister's home. They lost power for a few hours and had some wind and rain. That's it. Norco is in Jefferson Parish where my brother lives. They have no power at their house, but also no water damage, and Norco will have even less of a problem as they are further West. Anything North or West of New Orleans is intact, my parent's live in Houma (50 miles SW of New Orleans) and there was virtually no damage there and only a brief power outage. I think that Jon's focus on infrastructure is spot on. Roads, rail, pipelines, etc. will be the industrial issue; along with power generation allocation issues. We'll be adding more reports to the blog, and to the website, as time goes on. Give. There are people down there in Louisiana and Mississippi who work in our industry who have lost everything. Give now. Walt
