The inaugural Smart Industry Conference & Expo is scheduled to take place at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel on October 5-7, 2015 in Chicago, Illinois. The first of its kind, Smart Industry 2015 will focus on the changes in processes and technologies as the "Internet of Things” continues to penetrate the industrial space.
The conference agenda features industry thought leaders, with keynotes from Microsoft's Kevin Miller, Dr. Colin Parris at GE Software, Rockwell Automation, Emerson Process Management and more. The event will bring together IIoT technology adopters in manufacturing organizations and enabling technology providers. Joining the long list of IIoT initiative takers, Dr. Rory Smith, Director of Strategic Development Americas at ThyssenKrupp Elevator, and Edward Rodden, CIO of food processor SugarCreek, will provide real world insights.
"The emerging Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) combines Big Data analytics with supply-chain and factory-floor sensors and monitoring tools, opening the door to greater efficiency, responsiveness and profitability for manufacturers and other industrial companies. As the IIoT matures, it will trickle into more industrial organizations, driving transformation comparable to what the commercial Internet did," explained Keith Larson, Vice President, Content at Putman Media.
Smart Industry 2015 organizers are collaborating with industry organizations to ensure the conference material is impactful for manufacturing attendees. The IIC has greatly influenced conference planning and will provide live demonstrations of their recently released test beds during the conference. Attendees can also look forward to hearing from Dr. Richard Soley from the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) and William King of the Digital Manufacturing & Design Innovation Institute. "Smart Industry 2015 offers IIoT stakeholders an outstanding platform for networking and education. Technology providers and initiative takers throughout industry are beginning to implement IIoT applications and solutions that will deliver tomorrow's competitive advantage. The information, knowledge and contacts gained by attending will help companies to identify opportunities and create action plans around the IIoT,” said Tony D'Avino, Vice President and Publisher of Smart Industry.
