The world market for embedded panel Industrial PCs (IPCs), worth almost $200 million in 2008, will grow to more than $250 million by 2013, according to new data from IMS Research which shows the global embedded-panel IPC market growing almost twice as fast as that for standard-panel IPCs. One factor which could slow adoption of embedded-panel IPCs is the increasing use of single-board computers, particularly in control-based applications where they offer similar functionality, but in a smaller form factor.
