Arthur G. Russell Co. Inc. (AGR), reported Mar. 18 that it’s purchased ProMatic Automation Inc. in Fletcher, N.C. AGR reports this acquisition strengthens its ability to serve a broader range of customers by offering a more diverse portfolio of automation solutions.
Located in Bristol, Conn., AGR is a system integrator and provider of automated assembly solutions. It delivers adaptable solutions and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) services for various industries, including small-scale projects that can be scaled up to meet evolving market demands, or high-volume productions with feed rates up to 1,800 parts per minute.
Likewise, over its 25-year-history, ProMatic built a reputation for customized automation systems. AGR adds it was drawn to ProMatic’s team-based, problem-solving approach and its ability to deliver flexible, customer-focused automation solutions. Its engineers, designers, programmers, machinists, fabricators and assemblers ensure seamless integration from concept to implementation, and are reported to be an ideal complement to AGR’s expertise in advanced automation.
“This acquisition lets AGR better serve customers, whose automation needs may not require large, highly sophisticated assembly systems,” says Jason Ensminger, president of AGR. “By integrating ProMatic’s expertise, we can offer a wider range of assembly machinery, making high-quality automation accessible to more small and mid-sized companies that we may have previously been unable to accommodate competitively.”
With AGR’s experience in precision automation and ProMatic’s expertise in flexible and scalable solutions, the two companies report their missions and approaches are perfectly aligned. The acquisition also enhances AGR’s ability to support businesses at all stages of growth, providing scalable automation solutions tailored to each customer’s requirements.
“We’ve built a dependable and trusted brand over the past two decades,” adds Jerry “Mack” McKeithan Jr., president of ProMatic. “Joining forces with AGR provides us the opportunity to take our capabilities to the next level, while maintaining our commitment to delivering world-class automation systems. I look forward to ensuring a smooth transition as we integrate into AGR’s operations.”
ProMatic’s 37,000-square-foot facility is located near Asheville Regional Airport, just off Interstate 26. This location, combined with AGR’s 100,000-square-foot headquarters in Bristol, let the companies support a growing customer base with innovative automation solutions, while expanding AGR’s presence in the rapidly growing, U.S. southern manufacturing sector. The acquisition also lets AGR to tap into a larger talent pool in the face of increasing retirements in the industries it serves.
