To help its water/wastewater, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and consumer goods clients work during the COVID-19 pandemic, GE Digital reported March 21 that it's offering free, 90-day, remote monitoring and control licenses to users of its iFix and Cimplicity HMI/SCADA software, which will enable them to remotely keep their plants running. This web-based solution gives users real-time monitoring and control access to plant operations and performance over a secure-by-design connection such as VPN, which lets critical infrastructure operate with a reduced crew onsite, while coordinating with remote teams.
"By making this solution available for free to our 20,000 automation software customers, we hope to make it easier for them to continue to provide vital services to our communities as we work together to slow the spread of the virus," says Matt Wells, vice president of product management at GE Digital.
Cimplicity and iFix users can get the 90-day client licenses for software packages, including:
- Proficy Webspace for iFIX,
- iClient Thin—Terminal Services,
- iClient Thick,
- Proficy Webspace for Cimplicity,
- Cimplicity Viewer with Terminal Services option, and
- Cimplicity Viewer.
