Sixty-year-old, China-based Peric Hydrogen Technologies Co. reported Sept.28 that it's partnering with ABB to enhance its capabilities for manufacturing highly efficient electrolyzers, which generate hydrogen by using electricity to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. They're collaboration will comprise ongoing consultation relating to the development of joint solutions and/or the integration of complementary technologies that will optimize efficient green hydrogen generation.
Emerson reported Sept. 27 that it's collaborating with Colgate-Palmolive Co. to reduce wasted energy in Colgate’s product packaging facilities, and contribute to its goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions in operations by 2040. Colgate has already achieved a 15% reduction in energy usage on several toothpaste and toothbrush packaging lines. The project uses specialized Aventics pneumatic sensors and IIoT-enabled software architecture to precisely monitor compressed air flow in real time to identify leaks, optimize pneumatic processes and improve air flow efficiency.
Moxa Inc. announced Nov. 3 that Chad Chesney has been appointed as president of Moxa Americas. His leadership background spans nearly 30 years, and includes leading cross-functional and strategic teams at NI (formerly National Instruments). Chesney succeeds Frank Hou, who is taking on a new role at Moxa’s headquarters, focusing on propelling global channel management and excellence strategies for the company and its global partners.
Honeywell announced Oct. 28 that it will work with IGEL to deploy solutions for Experion Process Knowledge System (PKS) users through the IGEL Ready program. This Linux-based solution, known as Honeywell’s Universal Thin Client Operating System, will allow Experion PKS users to securely deploy a thin-client operating system, access an ecosystem of hardware and software, give endpoint devices the peripheral and connectivity features needed for Experion PKS, and delivering a productive and secure end-user experience.
Digi-Key Electronics launched Oct. 14 new features for its popular, cloud-based Scheme-it tool, which is a free online schematics and diagramming solution for engineers, educators and students. Scheme-it is used to design and share electronic circuit diagrams and schematics. The new features include: Ultra Librarian symbol integration with approximately 2 million detailed, visually-appealing symbols and images from Digi-Key’s product catalog; Symbol Editor 2.0 custom symbol editor, and Mathematics markup, powered by LaTeX, that let's properly format and insert mathematical formulas and calculations directly on schematics.
Territory Generation reported Oct. 11 that it's selected GE’s TM2500 mobile aeroderivative gas turbine for its Channel Island Power Station. TM2500 will support grid firming in the Darwin-Katherine region. The project supports the Australian Government’s commitment to building a hydrogen industry in Australia and the Northern Territory’s Roadmap to Renewables energy policy, which targets 50% renewable energy by 2030.
