Have you ever wished an Emerson product was just a bit faster to set up, more intuitive to use? This week at Exchange you have your chance to see that the next generation of Emerson technology is just that. Emerson’s Human-Centered Design Institute is hosting a Usability Lab in Exhibit Hall C (next door to the Technology Exhibits), where you can get an early look at products currently under development—and influence important design decisions before they’ve been made.
"We want to improve the design of our technical products to better serve customers and the real-world problems they face," says Jay Elkerton, director of human-centered design at Emerson Process Management. “Directly connecting our technology teams with customers via product usability testing is the best way to do this.” This year at the Exchange, Emerson is recruiting users to test several new products and online digital tools. Volunteers should expect to spend 30-45 minutes in a one-on-one session focused on one of 10 products from across the full range of Emerson measurement and system solutions.
Participants in this year's Usability Lab have the opportunity to shape the next generation of Emerson technology. Here, a user puts a pressure transmitter and associated software through its paces. Stop by Exhibit Hall C or make an appointment online.
Please register to participate at http://go.emersonprocess.com/EmersonExchangeUsability or stop by Exhibit Hall C. Testing runs Monday 1 p.m. through 7:00 p.m., and Tuesday and Wednesday 8:00 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. And if shaping a more productive future isn’t enough, Best Buy gift cards for all participants and raffle for an iPad mini also are at stake.
