Acoustic particle monitor minimizes erosion risk in oil and gas production
Rosemount SAM42 acoustic particle monitor can detect extremely low concentrations of entrained sand in challenging conditions in real-time with a high level of measurement repeatability and sensitivity. Its compact, non-intrusive, all-in-one design features onboard data processing, explosion-proof protection, and simple installation with no pipe penetration or modifications needed.
Rosemount SAM42 send data via a Modbus RTU RS485 digital wired connection, enabling users to adjust production flows. It’s available in two versions designed to accommodate -40 °F (-40 °C) to 554 °F (290 °C) pipe surface temperatures, making it suitable for oil and gas applications and geothermal energy production.
Rosemount SAM42 can be mounted on 2- to 48-inch diameter pipes. It’s rated for use in Ex d (flameproof) hazardous areas thanks to approvals from ATEX, IECEx, USA and Canada, as well as Ex i (intrinsic safety) approvals from ATEX and IECEx.
