Optiwave 1540 compact, 80 GHz radar level transmitter is designed for high-accuracy, non-contact measurement in open-channel flow applications. Its robust polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) housing and front-flush-lens antenna ensure reliable performance in harsh environments.

Optiwave 1540 measures flow rates by determining the level and geometry of the channel, making it ideal for wastewater, canals and flood-warning systems. Bluetooth-enabled commissioning using the Optocheck Level Mobile app and diagnostics simplify setup and maintenance. It’s intended for basic applications with liquid chemicals and open-channel flows, cost-effective and non-contact level measurement in IBCs, chemical tanks up to 5 bar (72.5 psi), and water/wastewater applications with high accuracy requirements.

Optiwave 1540 is also waterproof in accordance with IP68, so it can be used as a level and flow transmitter. Its measuring range is 0 to 15 m (49.2 ft), and it networks via two-wire, 4-20 mA HART7 protocol.
