SIL 2/3 capable STZ functional-safety, dual-input, smart HART, DIN-style, temperature transmitter with Associated Intrinsically Safe (AIS) sensor connections has joined the AIS product family. It’s certified by exida to IEC 61508 for systematic integrity up to SIL 3 and for single use in safety instrumented systems (SIS) up to SIL 2.
STZ works with STZ-DIN, which is an associated apparatus suitable for mounting in non-hazardous or Class I, Division 2/Zone 2 hazardous locations with sensor input terminals connected to sensors or equipment in Class I, II, III, Division 1/Zone 0/1 hazardous locations. The IS-AIS option for STZ-DIN allows direct connection of sensors in hazardous locations by including an embedded IS barrier in STZ-DIN’s front end, which reduces installation costs.
