Oak Ridge, Tennessee, has come a long way since its role in the Manhattan Project, as of late it has assumed a central role in the development of small, modular reactors (SMRs) for the safe generation of sustainable, carbon-free electrical power. Indeed, increased investments by the Tennessee Valley Authority and Nano Nuclear Energy reported in this week's first two stories are indicative of the contribution that SMRs promise to play in the mitigation of climate change for industrial organizations. Here's wishing those researchers involved every success in this second round of world-changing endeavors.
