JODOIGNE, Belgium -- The SAC (Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China) has announced the official approval of the FDT standard as the China National Standard GB/T 29618, clearing the way for further, broad deployment of the FDT standard throughout China in all industrial and governmental control projects.
"We worked closely with the Institute of Automation at the Southwest University in China as well as the Instrumentation Technology and Economy Institute to bring the FDT standard through the China approval process. We are grateful for the support of our China FDT Association board members' help bring this to a successful conclusion. Our member companies and China as well as our China end users can now deploy FDT as a fully approved China national standard," says Klaus-Peter Lindner, Vice President of Standards and Associations for the FDT Group.
The FDT standard is already approved as the IEC 62453 standard as well as the ISA/ANSI 102 standard. This latest approval as the China GB/T 29618 standard now enables multi-national companies to deploy the standard in their automation platform on a global scope with assurance of acceptance by all major governing standards bodies.
"China has seen tremendous growth in the adoption of the FDT standard thanks to the on the ground efforts of our China FDT Association, " observes Glenn Schulz, Managing Director of the FDT Group. "Many China based automation suppliers have incorporated the FDT standard into their offerings to enhance their device integration, asset management capabilities, and seamless multi industrial network deployments. Major projects in China such as the Guangdong Zhaoqing Power Plant have already begun to deploy the FDT standard."
The FDT standard is freely available for use by any industry supplier or end user without license or royalty. The FDT standard is maintained and advanced by the member companies of the international non-profit FDT Group based in Belgium. Visit www.fdtgroup.org for more information.
