Flow Research Inc. reported Dec. 18 that DwyerOmega’s recent acquisition of Process Sensing Technologies Ltd. (PST) means it also owns Fluid Components International, which makes thermal mass flowmeters and level and flow switches. FCI provides PST’s only flow and level products, and serves chemical, oil and gas, power and energy, water and wastewater, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper, aerospace and other industries.
PST has operations in Europe, North America and Asia, and serves pharmaceutical, bioscience, medical, aerospace, semiconductor, compressed air, building automation and energy markets. It designs, manufactures and distributes measurement solutions under 11 brands for analyzing and monitoring process parameters.
FCI also owns FCI Aerospace, which manufactures flow, level, temperature and pressure sensors for the aircraft industry. It operates a flow and level calibration facility used in product development and customers’ product calibrations. The company reports its calibration laboratory has NIST and ISO/IEC 17025 traceable equipment, which lets FCI better engineer custom solutions.
DwyerOmega is a portfolio company of Arcline Investment Management, which is a private equity firm that acquired a controlling interest in Dwyer Instruments in July 2021. Dwyer and Omega joined forces in July 2022, when Arcline acquired Omega Engineering Inc. from Spectris plc. Founded in 1962 and primarily a distributor, Omega distributes more than 100,000 sensing, control, and monitoring products, including most types of flowmeters.
Founded in 1931 and headquartered in Indiana, Dwyer supplies variable area, Venturi and turbine flowmeters, orifice plates, and pressure, humidity and temperature sensors. In addition to FCI, Omega and Dwyer, DwyerOmega includes Universal Flow Monitors (UFM) and seven other companies. UFM supplies vortex flowmeters and several types of variable-area meters.
